Who We Are
The Neutral Host & Infra Sharing Project Group (PG) focuses on realizing the untapped potential of neutral host economics for In-Building Solutions (IBS) and Outdoor Densification and Edge Solutions.
The PG was established to promote innovative business models, collaboration among a broad set of stakeholders, and tech architectures to accelerate neutral host connectivity solutions.
What is a Neutral Host?
A Neutral Host is a business model and ultimately an operating entity that builds, owns, and operates dedicated wholesale network infrastructure utilized by service providers through commercial agreements.
The model has as its underpinnings the powerful economics of shared passive and active infra that lowers both capex and opex across the ecosystem, enabling deployments in indoor and urban outdoor settings while enabling service-based competition.
What is Our Vision?
Our vision is to become the platform to catalyze Neutral Host business model deployments world-wide. A vibrant collaboration hub for a wide range of stakeholders focused on in-building solutions and urban outdoor densification. Our stakeholders and collaborators include existing and future neutral hosts, vendors, system integrators, real estate companies and municipalities, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and policymakers.
We envision the Neutral Host & Infra Sharing PG as the fulcrum that creates value by eliminating barriers and catalyzing neutral host formation through issue analysis, exposure, consensus building, and solution development and deployment.
What is Our Scope?
The scope of this PG is In-building Solutions (IBS) and Outdoor Densification and Edge Solutions operating with a neutral host business model for both passive and active network components.
The PG will collaborate with other TIP PGs to accelerate the development of reference architectures and tech specs as shown below.

What’s New?
Mumbai Suburban Railway Transit
Neutral Host Networks (NHNs) are telecom infrastructure systems designed to be shared by multiple mobile network operators (MNOs) and other service providers. These networks are typically owned and managed by a third-party entity (the "neutral host") rather than any one MNO. The primary goal of NHNs is to optimize the use of telecom infrastructure, reduce costs, and enhance service coverage and capacity.
