The Telecom Infra Project’s (TIP) OpenRAN Project Group (PG) is entering a bold new phase; one designed to drive greater alignment, collaboration, and real-world impact across the Open RAN ecosystem. With the approval of a new, streamlined structure, the PG is now focused on delivering high-value outcomes through two clearly defined tracks: Solutions and RIA (RAN Intelligence & Automation).
This evolution marks a major milestone in the PG’s journey to accelerate the adoption of open and disaggregated RAN technologies. By consolidating its previous six subgroups into two focused areas, the new structure is aimed at boosting technical depth, operational clarity, and industry collaboration.
Welcoming the RIA Subgroup Co-Leads
We are proud to introduce the newly appointed Co-Leads of the RIA subgroup, a team of accomplished leaders who will drive the advancement of lifecycle automation, orchestration, and AI/ML-enabled intelligence in RAN:

In parallel, the Solutions subgroup will tackle real-world deployment challenges by developing solution blueprints, aligning on operator needs, and supporting certification efforts across a range of OpenRAN use cases. We’re excited to welcome the following experts as Co-Leads:

Looking Ahead: Updated Charter and Next Steps
To reflect the updated structure and scope, the OpenRAN PG Co-Chairs, working closely with the newly appointed Co-Leads, are reviewing and revising the Project Group Charter. The revised Charter will be submitted to the TIP Board of Directors for approval in the coming weeks.
This marks a pivotal moment for the OpenRAN PG as it continues to evolve and lead the way in shaping the future of open, disaggregated mobile networks.
