TIP’s OpenWiFi community proudly announces the release of OpenWiFitm4.0, a significant milestone introducing full WiFi 7 support. This latest version includes APNOS and SDK compatibility for WiFi 7 Access Points from CIG, Edgecore, and Cybertan, achieving an impressive 3Gbps+ throughput across all models. Additionally, the release brings 6GHz MPSK support, further enhancing network performance and flexibility.
The APNOS development and QA teams have worked tirelessly to ensure comprehensive coverage for more than 40 DUTs (WiFi 6 and WiFi 7 models) and have rigorously tested over 12 DUTs in the QA lab, guaranteeing top-tier functionality and reliability.
OpenWiFitm 4.0 extends its support to a wide range of DUTs from community partners, including Edgecore, CIG, Cybertan, HFCL, Inventum, Andrena, and Senao. These devices have undergone extensive development and testing cycles, covering critical features such as EMPSK, Rate Limiting, Roaming, Band Steering, Captive Portal, TR398, peak throughput, scalability, and range optimization. The below images provide a detailed overview of the 4.0 release coverage and test environment. For more information on supported features, reach out to [email protected].
We extend our sincere appreciation to the OpenLAN PSC members, Group Chair and Co-Chairs, the OpenWiFi subgroup Co-Leads, APNOS development partners at embeDD, testing partner Candela Technologies Inc., and SDK development partner Kinara Systems for their invaluable contributions and collaboration. Looking ahead, the next release will focus on PKI 2.0 certification, WiFi 7 Preamble Puncturing, MLO support, WiFi HaLow integration, and major feature upgrades.
