The OLS Subgroup proudly announces the release of OLS 4.0, a major milestone in the evolution of open, vendor-neutral, and feature-rich switching platforms. OLS has matured significantly, now supporting an expansive set of features rigorously tested across multiple switch models from leading ODMs, including Edgecore, Asterfusion, Larch Networks, and CyberTAN.

What’s New in OLS 4.0?
  • Expanded Feature Set – Enhancements include VLANs, PoE++, DHCP Server/Relay, and robust security features such as 802.1X authentication, IP Source Guard, and MAC/IP ACLs.
  • Enterprise-Grade Reliability – Improved multicast support (IGMP/MVR), MC-LAG, port mirroring, cable diagnostics, and more for seamless network operations.
  • Cloud Integration – Advanced state messaging, SDK compatibility, and uplink identification, enabling smooth cloud-based management.
Strength in Collaboration

The success of OLS 4.0 is built on the collective effort of TIP members, developers, and testing partners such as Candela Technologies Inc. and Shasta Cloud, who have ensured rigorous testing, issue triaging, and documentation of platform-specific limitations.

QA-Tested DUTs

OLS 4.0 has undergone extensive validation, ensuring optimal performance and compatibility across a diverse set of Device Under Test (DUT) models: OLS_4.0_DUT_Coverage 6-11
